Description

Enhance your dishes with this Honey Pickled Onions recipe, featuring the perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavours. Made with sweet onions and a touch of honey, these pickled onions are a versatile and vibrant addition to salads, sandwiches, and charcuterie boards.


Ingredients

  • 2 (450 g) New Onions or sweet onions of choice
  • 3 tbsp (60 g) honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (120-160 ml) vinegar*

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the onions with a knife or a mandoline. 
  2. Massage the salt into the onions and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, add the honey to the vinegar and microwave for 45-60 seconds or until hot. Stir the honey until dissolved.
  4. Squeeze excess liquid out of the onions. Place into a jar and pour the vinegar mixture over the onions. Cover and refrigerate overnight. 
  5. Serve and enjoy!
